ALEX + BOBBY | DOWNTOWN CHICAGO WEDDING

Alex & Bobby met at a Kygo concert, held at the Navy Pier in January 2016. Let me tell you about Chicago in 2016: it ain’t warm. So the level of commitment to music, concerts, and Kygo was high. I guess being a Kygo fan at the time was a pretty rare thing (it would have to be to be freezing your butt off just to see him perform!) They were standing near each other and Alex noticed Bobby eyeing her (and who could blame him! Have you seen this blonde beauty?!) Meanwhile she’s thinking “Wow, he actually looks a bit like Kygo…” Something Bobby used to his advantage because once they got to talking, he actually said he was his cousin!! So she’s quizzing him on all things Kygo (he passed) AND he even had a photo WITH Kygo himself (extra points.) Killer game Bobby, Alex was smitten. This turned into lunch dates, which turned into night dates and Cindy’s rooftop and the 95th floor of the John Hancock Building. How very Chicago 🙂
It wasn’t long before Bobby asked Alex to join him for what would be her first music festival: Ultra in Miami. She describes this as the best experience of her life and what became “their thing.” Since then they have been to 27 concerts and 8 festivals together! She says music is what connects them, and is a huge part of their relationship.

I was so excited when I was asked to document their day. Most of my couples I’d say are in my age group (mid-late thirties) and to see this adorable young couple start their journey took me right back to when my husband and I first got married. I was so honored to be a part of that. There is so much ahead for you guys, and I’m touched to have been allowed to document the very beginning of it. I hope you’ll go back to these images year after year and never forget this beautiful day.

Aww, what a sweet compliment, thank you so much! ?

Okay, these two clearly had the absolute best time at their wedding, and that is what it’s all about! I always adore hearing their stories, too!

Yeah, music is a big deal for them, so I think that was probably the most fun part of the day for them (aside from getting married obviously lol), when the music finally got started! 😀

The pictures are stunning! And I like the storytelling in your article and how you put together the pictures to compose a visual album, together with the music. I felt like I was there in this downtown Chicago wedding. Thanks for posting this my friend.

Thank you! It was lovely to get to know their story and to be able to document their day 🙂

These are so so so beautiful. Love all the intimate moments you captured
