I adore shooting weddings, I really do. To me there’s nothing like it. Everyone is dressed to the nines, ready to celebrate a really special moment in two people’s lives, and a lifetime’s worth of memories on each side is swimming through everyone’s mind. Their emotions are heightened, and ready to break free at any moment. A close second though, for me, are family sessions. Seeing those exact memories that will be thought of on a wedding day being made is something truly special. Watching parents and children interact and love each other. Watching hugs, cuddles, giggles and tickle wars makes me smile ear to ear, and I am reminded of how truly special it is to have a family.
Meet Lena, Michael & the cutest little guy of all: Levi. Lena, a fellow photographer, reached out to me because after pain and tears during bath time, it was time to cut Levi’s beautiful head of blonde curls, and she wanted photos of her beautiful boy’s hair first. So we headed to a beach in Michigan, and let Levi frolick in the water. He was so happy! We watched the water, picked rocks, ran after seagulls and each other. After a day like this I can’t help but think: family is wonderful and my job is amazing.
